About Me

Daniel Pelfrey is an author of thrillers, crime fiction, alternate history, and urban fantasy with a decidedly crime fiction vibe. With a background as colorful as his characters—Air Force veteran, TSA officer, blackjack dealer, and substitute teacher—Daniel brings authentic experience to his storytelling. After years of contemplating the author's life, he finally took the plunge in 2019, publishing his first novel "Project Aurora" in 2021. His writing style has evolved from spontaneous "pantsing" to carefully planned story arcs, though he still reserves the right to change course mid-stream when inspiration strikes. Daniel holds a Bachelor's in History from Black Hills State University, knowledge he puts to good use in his research-heavy works. His latest release, "A Grave in the Sand" (April 2025), continues the popular Hector Ramirez series, while several other projects simmer in various stages of development. Writing from Medora, North Dakota, Daniel's goal is simple: create enjoyable experiences for readers through character-driven narratives. When not crafting his next story, he can be found with his nose in someone else's book—his preferred method for briefly escaping his own fictional worlds.
